SHOWTIME SAYS…
Questions are still floating around as to a motive behind the shooting of Atlanta rapper Slim Dunkin last week. Slim who was a popular artist associated with Wacka Flocka’s Brick Squad label was killed while in a recording studio Friday night.
Reports are now surfacing that even though a suspect has not been named police believe that the shooting was over a piece of candy. O_o
According to The NY Daily News an altercation ensued in the studio where about 20 people were present while Slim was preparing for a photoshoot.
“The victim, Mario Hamilton, known as Slim Dunkin,….according to witnesses, someone came into this room, struck him and a fight ensued. The information we’re getting, it’s unconfirmed, but witnesses are saying this whole thing started over a piece of candy….“
It appears the victim was scheduled to do a photo shoot,” Meadows told The Associated Press. “Before the video shoot took place, it appears the victim and suspect got involved in a verbal altercation. We don’t know what that altercation was about.”
“The suspect produced a weapon, discharged that handgun one time, striking the victim in the chest,” Meadows said.
The performer was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Regardless of the reason behind the killing we have lost another one of our young black men to a senseless act of violence. There has to come a time when we learn that we need to do better.
