SHOWTIME SAYS…

The city of Raleigh sent out 4,000 letters earlier this week to people who have unpaid parking tickets on file.

Last month City Council decided to use a new method to collect unpaid tickets.

Beginning on December 15, the city can snatch your state income tax refund if you owe more than $50 in unpaid parking tickets that haven’t been paid in 6 months.

Earlier this year there was about $2 million in uncollected parking fines owed to the city.

If you have parking tickets that are overdue you have two options. I have listed them below.

You can mail a check to Raleigh ParkLink Citation Processing Center, P.O. Box 6649, Rockville, MD 20849-6649

You can also pay your tickets off locally at the Avery C. Upchurch Government Complex, 222 W. Hargett St., or the City of Raleigh ParkLink Office, One Bank of America Plaza, 421 Fayetteville St., Suite S-002.
