SHOWTIME SAYS…

Wednesday marked the end of an era in the Triangle.  The area’s YWCA closed it’s doors in downtown Raleigh after being open for over 100 years.

The YWCA is an organization that has been working for women’s rights and eliminating racism since 1901.  The organization is being forced to close due to financial troubles.  The organization sent out a press release on Wednesday explaining that they were forced to downsize due to a “shrinking pool of available grants and a decrease in government and corporate funding.”

Employees of the YWCA were given less than 24 hours notice before the organization was closed.
