According to The Single Father’s Blog  Penn State University has removed the statue of former football coach Joe Paterno from in front of Beaver Stadium.

University president Rodney Erickson said that the statue will be stored in a “secured location”

In a statement that was released Erickson said  “I now believe that, contrary to is original intention, Coach Paterno’s statue has become a source of division and an obstacle to hearing in our university and beyond. For that reason, I have decided that it is in the best interest of our university and public safety to remove the statue and store it in a secure location.”

The decision to remove the statue was made a little over a week after the Feech Report which declared Paterno as well as other officials at Penn State conspired to hide the sexual allegations made against Jerry Sandusky.

What do  you think…Should Penn State have removed the statue?
