Rapper Mystikal, who is most famously known for his hit song “Shake It Fast”, has reportedly made a bold decision about his future in the music business that many folks might not understand.

After returning home from a six-year prison stint for sexual harassment and extortion, the rapper has found it hard to make his way back to the top of the rap charts, so he has reportedly said that if his new CD is not a success, he will shoot his load shot at a career in porn. The 42-year-old Louisiana rapper and Gulf War veteran isn’t new to the porn industry. Back in 2003 Mystikal won an Adult Video News (AVN) award for his role in the movie Liquid City. Even though he did not perform any sexual acts in the film, the academy of AVN thought his performance was so stellar that he should be rewarded.

Mystikal isn’t the first celebrity to venture into the pearly white pornographic gates. People from all areas of the entertainment industry have gone into the porn industry…Remember OctoMom?

Rapper Tyga has announced that he will step into the world of adult entertainment with his first film titled ‘Rack City.’ He will produce, direct, and star in the film.

Snoop Dogg got his paws on a porn project in 2001 when he released Dogg’s Doggystyle. Even though he did not perform any sex acts in the film, Snoop did create the mixture of music videos and hardcore porn for viewers to enjoy.

Remember the WWE women’s wrestler Joan “Chyna” Laurer? After Chyna’s career in the squared circle was over she began making adult films. According to Chyna, she decided to start making money by having sex on screen after a homemade video of her and her then boyfriend was leaked to the public.

It’s obvious that no one is exempt from these rough economic times that we are going through right now. Mystikal has found a very creative way to make ends meet. Not everyone has the opportunity to make XXX videos as their second job option. So, here are 5 ways that you can survive the recession without having to go into the porn industry.

1. Find A Way To Earn Extra Money – I’m a strong proponent of having more than one hustle under your cap. The days of being able to survive with one source of income are long gone for most of us. If you want to be on the surviving end of this Great Recession, you are going to have to figure out something that you can do to earn you more income. Whether it’s picking up a second job at night, or creating a business that you can manage from your home. Just do something to open up another revenue stream. Even if it’s not a large sum of money, just think about the big picture and how every penny counts (as cliché-ish as it sounds)

2. Reduce Your Expenses – One of the ways that people fall behind during a recession is having a tremendous amount of debt before the tough times hit and not having a way to maintain their way of living when things get rough. A way to prevent this from happening is to cut back on your expenses. Especially those things that aren’t necessary for your survival. Things like cable television, eating out several times a week, and brand new clothes aren’t necessary so you may have to cut back on some things in order to get by. Make sure you are spending less than you earn. Keeping up with the Joneses is no longer an option. You should attempt to save at least 40-50 percent of what you earn.

3. Learn to negotiate – When your funds are low, you have to learn how to make the most out of what you have. The best way to do this is to negotiate. This is especially when you are looking at bills for home improvement, vehicle services, furniture, and many other goods and services. Consumers who learn the art of negotiation are usually the ones who get the best deals. Price negotiation is a great way to get a feel for the market and determine how to get the best bang for your buck.

4. Always put away for a rainy day –I already said that you should be saving 40-50 percent of whatever you bring home. You never know when something is going to happen. Like the old saying goes, whatever can go wrong WILL go wrong. Use that motto when looking at your finances. There should always be something to show for your hard work. Saving will also help you become discipline. Rich folks didn’t acquire their wealth by spending every dime that they got their hands. Most of the richest people in the world came up with a strategy to earn their money, invest it and save it.

5. Face Reality – No matter how hard you want to get back to the days when gas was .99 a gallon and the country was booming with jobs and a flourishing real estate market, it will probably be a very long time before we see the economy take a turn for the better. Until then, your best bet is to forget about how things were and focus on what you have to do to stay afloat and provide for yourself and your family. Life is all about adjustments, and once you learn what adjustments to make at what time the status of the Great Recession won’t make a difference because you will already be prepared.

6. Research Your Own Debt – Many times we have debt and we don’t even know the specifics of what we owe or how we owe it. Sit down and look at all of your monthly bills including your credit cards, utilities, and other living expenses. Many companies provide options for those who are going though financial hardships. You always want to let the bill collectors know what is going on. Keeping an open line of communication with them will help you out a great deal if you ever begin to fall behind on any of your payments. Also, find out what your interest rates are for your credit cards. See if you can negotiate a better rate with the credit card company than what you already have. The worst thing that anyone can tell you is no.

There are plenty of other ways for you to make it through the recession. These are just some tips to help you with your survival. Take a moment and reflect on what you can do to keep things running smoothly in your household when the financial world around you starts to crumble.
