NYC Bike incident After reading several articles on the senseless motorcycle incident that took place this past weekend in New York City where a “Wealthy couple attacked by wild pack of motorcyclist after harrowing 4-mile chase on the West Side Highway following fender bender turned hit-and-run-— driver fled after running over biker.” I felt the need to address this situation. Dealing with the motorcycle community here in the 919 and knowing all of the positive that they do in the community and how they organize any rally’s they have, I hate that an incident like that which took place in NYC could and would be used as the face of the motorcycle community. In my years of dealing with the motorcycle community here on a personal level as well as on my many community service projects,  I have never seen such an incident take place and never have been compelled to call any of the riders “a vicious mob of motorcyclists” or moto-psychos , which these bikers are being called in several articles covering the story. I hate to think that because of this incident all motorcyclist will be labeled this way. You have many people who see the video of this incident or who watch shows like “Sons of Anarchy” and think that this is the way of all motorcyclist. NOT! Some articles have called them viscous gangs and many people feel that Motorcycle Clubs are gangs and that is not the case. They just happen to be a group of people who have something in common….the love of the ride and the love of community. By no means am I saying the bikers in this case were right in attacking the driver of the Range Rover after running over several bikers, I just don’t want one bad apple to spoil the whole bunch. You can read more here and check out the video ,then let us know your thoughts on it…..
