A recent survey found that many Americans believe that Santa Claus should be paid for his yearly duties…How much cash should St. Nick get, you ask? Well…according to these folks about $140,000 a year!
A survey done by Insure.com found that if Santa was paid a salary he should get $139,924 a year. According to the site’s annual Santa Index Santa actually received a raise this year of 1.5%
Perhaps more interesting is that 29% think Santa should make nothing at all whereas 29% think he should make $1.8 billion.
The survey by Insure.com was taken online in September by 895 adults who said Santa visits their homes.
It is based on a list of tasks and hours and matched to jobs from the Bureau of Labor Statistics to uncover average wages.
His highest wages come from leading the workshop, which fits under the engineer category and flying the sleigh as a pilot.
Whereas his lower wages were tallied from wrapping gifts and taking care of animals, like a farmer.
I don’t know about you…but maybe I’m in the wrong line of work! $140,000 for one day of work a year aint too shabby…lol
