Did you catch “Tyrone The Black Fairy” at the Annual Christmas Parade downtown Raleigh this year courtesy of G-105? If not, you missed the radio station’s racially insensitive way of spreading holiday cheer.
Apparently someone at G105 thought it would be cool to hang “Tyrone The Black Fairy” from the station’s float at the annual Raleigh Christmas parade Saturday. This is just outrageous. This doesn’t represent what the holiday season is about at all.
When asked about why they allowed the station to put “Tyrone the Black Fairy” in the parade a spokesperson from the Greater Raleigh Merchants Association said they were unaware that Tyrone would be in the parade. They said they were under the impression that he would be floating over the air and not hanging from the back.
Umm, excuse me … a black man named Tyrone hanging from anything is a problem. Let’s start with the obvious questions? Did you not see a fairy named Tyrone as a problem? And with the level of racial tension that is currently in the country I would think you wouldn’t allow a black man or woman to hang from anything. This is just a mess. I don’t know about you but as far as I am concerned G-105 can kiss …. well you get the picture.
